Mick's Must Haves

We are lucky to have access to a massive range of stuff, but when it all boils down, what are the sounds we wouldn’t be without?

JAM Pedals Tubedreamer

I’ve been a Tube Screamer fanatic for years and if I can’t use my own fave TS808 there are lots of options… but very few do it as well as JAM. This one adds asymmetrical clip for a little more edge.

SHOP
Walrus 385 Overdrive

Whether it’s an actual fuzz, or something fuzz-like just on the edge, I always want a harder distortion sound for classic rock, late-’60s and even lo-fi vibes. That will be this or a Thorpy Warthog, usually.

SHOP
J Rockett Archer

I was fortunate enough to pick up a real Klon Centaur before they were crazybucks. It’s genuinely my fave OD and boost of all time ever, and the Archer gets VERY close for very sensible money.

SHOP
Catlinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe

I’m such a sucker for tape delay and we both think this is top of the tree of the modern tape emulators, thanks in no small part to the 22V preamp. Couple of cool extra modes in here too.

SHOP
JAM Pedals Harmonious Monk

It all started with Joey Landreth and before we knew it, we’d designed our own harmonic trem with these exceptional humans. It works better for me than vibe. Dan loves it too of course!

SHOP
Source Audio Collider Delay & Reverb

I was late to the reverb pedal party, but the Collider got me into bigger ambience in a way I could understand. And room reverbs too. That it has a fabulous delay as well makes it truly superb!
