Product Overview

The ThorpyFX Heavy Water was born from customer demand for the boost side of the Dane pedal to be made into its own pedal. As such, the Heavy Water is a dual boost pedal with a twist. The right-hand side is the same as the boost found on THE DANE. The left-hand side is similarly designed but with more grit/drive available from its Germanium clipping stage. The pedal is designed so that the “DANE” boost runs into the Germanium boost side. This yields three distinct tonal variations ranging from clean boost all the way through to really heavy saturation, when combined with your amp.

With both sides engaged the HEAVY WATER sends a high headroom amp into really heavy distortion. The pedal can also be used as a low boost to subtly polish your sound and fatten up your tone.

There is a footswitch for each side, they can be used independently or combined. It uses top-mounted input/output jacks to maximize pedalboard real estate. Powered by standard 9V center-negative power supply, using 1% metalfilm resistors, WIMA and Panasonic capacitors where possible, Burr-Brown Op-amps and robust through hole gold-plated PCB’S. Soldered with lead-free solder. The pedal is 2.5in x 4.9in x 2in.

LHS Boost
This control gives allows you massive amounts of control, add grittier, germanium-driven clean boost to your signal, use it on its own or with the RHS boost it can really make the pedal sing with complex harmonics and layered overdrive.

LHS Lows
This control gives allows you the ability to add low end to the boost side of the pedal. The amount of low end on tap is fantastic for fattening up even the spankiest strat bridge pickup.

RHS Boost
This control gives allows you massive amounts of control to add high headroom clean boost to your signal, use it on its own or when stacked into the germanium boost it can really make the pedal sing with complex harmonics and layered overdrive.

RHS Lows
This control gives allows you the power to add low end to the boost side of the pedal. Again, loads of low-end on tap.

Power
The Heavy Water is designed to work at voltages of 9V DC. This should be from a quality center-negative power supply such as the Gigrig Generator or Voodoo Lab Pedalpower Plus 2. Do not attempt to use this pedal with other voltages or polarities.
